Supplement Manufacturing Quality and Project Documentation

For private-label and custom supplement buyers

Supplement Manufacturing Quality and Project Documentation

A certificate name is not enough to determine whether a manufacturer is suitable for a specific supplement project. Buyers should confirm the applicable facility, dosage-form scope, product specification, testing plan, batch-release records and documents that will be supplied for the finished order.

Aidacru supports this review before sampling and quotation. Applicable manufacturing certifications—including NSF/ANSI 455-2 GMP, ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP—and project-specific quality documentation are available for qualified buyer review. The applicable scope is confirmed for each approved product brief.

Manufacturing Certifications Must Match the Project

Certification scope can differ by facility, production process, product category and validity period. Aidacru therefore does not treat a badge as proof that every possible formula or dosage form is covered.

NSF/ANSI 455-2 GMP

Applicable GMP documentation is available for qualified review for eligible projects. The reviewed manufacturing scope includes capsules, gummies, ingestible liquids, powders and tablets. Final applicability is checked against the product brief and current certificate scope.

ISO 22000:2018

ISO 22000 addresses food-safety management systems. Buyers should still confirm the certified facility, production address, product scope, surveillance status and whether the proposed formula falls within that scope.

HACCP

HACCP documentation supports review of the applicable hazard-control system. It does not replace a product specification, finished-product test plan or batch-specific release decision.

FDA Food Facility Registration

Food facility registration is not a certification, product approval or FDA endorsement. Where relevant, the applicable manufacturing-facility registration information can be reviewed during buyer due diligence. Aidacru does not use the terms “FDA certified” or “FDA approved.”

Important: certificate coverage for one dosage form does not automatically establish coverage for softgels, drops, pet products or every formula made at a facility. Aidacru confirms operational capability and certification scope separately.

Documents That May Be Defined for a Supplement Project

The required document set depends on the target market, formula, dosage form, ingredients, packaging, claims and buyer quality agreement. Available documents may include:

  • product specification;

  • formula or ingredient list, subject to confidentiality controls;

  • Nutrition Facts or Supplement Facts inputs based on the approved formula and serving;

  • allergen statement;

  • non-GMO statement where supported;

  • SDS or MSDS when applicable to the relevant material or product;

  • raw-material or finished-product laboratory reports;

  • stability protocol or report when included in the project;

  • packaging specification and approved artwork records; and

  • applicable manufacturing certification documents for qualified review.

Availability does not mean every document is automatically included. The quotation and product specification should state which documents are included, which require additional testing, and which depend on third-party laboratory timing.

Testing and COA Planning

Testing should be selected from the finished specification rather than from a generic “full testing” claim. Aidacru can coordinate an agreed test panel using in-house and third-party testing routes, subject to project confirmation.

Depending on the product and buyer requirements, the agreed panel may address selected microbiological criteria, heavy metals, active-ingredient assays, pesticide residues, stability or other relevant parameters. The exact analytes, limits, methods, sample identity and laboratory must be defined in writing.

What a laboratory-issued COA or report establishes

  • the sample or batch identified on that document;

  • the parameters actually tested;

  • the test methods and acceptance criteria shown;

  • the laboratory that issued the report; and

  • the reported results for that sample.

A laboratory-issued COA does not prove that unlisted parameters were tested. It also should not be reused as evidence for a different formula, batch or packaging configuration.

Customers may request a specific third-party laboratory, subject to method and sample acceptance. Additional third-party laboratory fees are normally paid by the customer, and turnaround time depends on the selected laboratory’s current schedule.

Batch Inspection and Release

Every production batch follows an internal inspection and release process. The release requirements for a buyer’s order should be agreed before production and linked to the approved formula, packaging specification and test plan.

When external laboratory testing is part of the project, release timing must account for sample submission, laboratory turnaround and review of the final report. A laboratory-issued COA or test report is project-specific and is not described as automatic for every order unless it is included in the written agreement.

Supplement Manufacturer Due-Diligence Checklist

  1. Identify the manufacturing facility. Confirm the legal manufacturing entity and production address during qualified review.

  2. Match the certificate to the dosage form. Check the current scope instead of relying only on a logo.

  3. Define the finished specification. Record actives, serving, physical requirements, microbiological and contaminant limits, packaging and storage conditions.

  4. Agree the testing route. State which tests are included, the laboratory, methods, limits, fees and expected turnaround.

  5. Confirm the sample-approval standard. Document which sample is approved and which characteristics may change at production scale.

  6. List the release documents. Specify the product documents and batch records required before shipment.

  7. Review market-specific labeling. Confirm that the label, serving and claims are evaluated for the intended market.

How Aidacru Handles a Quality-Document Review

  1. You share the target market, dosage form, formula status, estimated quantity and packaging format.

  2. Aidacru reviews manufacturing feasibility and identifies the documents relevant to the proposed project.

  3. The parties confirm sample scope, quality assumptions, test requirements and third-party laboratory needs.

  4. The applicable facility and certification scope are disclosed accurately during qualified due diligence and contracting.

  5. The final quotation and specification identify included documents, external costs and project dependencies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Aidacru FDA certified?

No. FDA food facility registration is not a certification or product approval. The applicable manufacturing-facility registration information can be reviewed for relevant projects, but it must not be described as “FDA certified” or “FDA approved.”

Does one GMP certificate cover every supplement format?

No. Certificate scope must be checked by facility, category and production process. The reviewed NSF/ANSI 455-2 GMP scope includes capsules, gummies, ingestible liquids, powders and tablets. Other formats require a separate scope check.

Does every order automatically receive a third-party COA?

Not automatically. Every production batch follows an internal inspection and release process. Laboratory testing and any laboratory-issued COA or report must be included in the written project requirements.

Can a buyer choose a third-party laboratory?

Yes, subject to project confirmation, laboratory acceptance, method suitability, sample handling, cost and turnaround time.

What should a buyer send for a document review?

Send the target market, dosage form, formula or ingredient brief, estimated quantity, packaging, required tests, desired documents and launch timing.
